Classic Wines of Piedmont [July 21]
Friday, July 21, 6-7:30pm ET
Piedmont means “at the foot of the mountain” in Italian, and the stunning landscape of Piedmont reflects the name. The region is surrounded on 3 sides by the Alps in Northwestern Italy, allowing for fantastic views, and even better wine! Turin, the capital city, is filled with history and culture, and the Piemontese take cuisine very seriously. The city of Bra is the center of the Slow Food Movement, working to preserve the history and culture of the local cuisine.
To accompany the many cuisine specialties, the wines of Piedmont prove to be able-bodied partners. The best known of Piedmont wines are the majestic Barolo and Barbaresco wines, but, there are so many more wines and grapes to discover in Piedmont - both reds and whites.
Let’s grab a glass of Gavi, Barbera, Erbaluce or Dolcetto and go!
