Diploma is a two-year program for anyone who has achieved the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines certification. It is one of the most respected wine certification qualifications in the world. Diploma is incredibly rewarding but also highly challenging and it will take your wine education to an elite level. The Diploma is broken into two Foundation and four Product Knowledge Units taught at various times and locations (including online) over two years. Units D1 and D2 must be taken first. You pay for all other units as you take them, allowing you to spread out the cost of the Diploma. Additionally, we offer payment plans upon request.

The Terroir Workshop by Grandes Pagos de España explores Spanish terroir in the context of history, science, geography, language and people. This workshop will be led by Spanish Wine Scholar and Commonwealth Wine School instructor, Erika Frey. Students will experience the "grand crus" of Spain through the wines and stories of the 34 members of Grandes Pagos d' España.
Founded in 2000, Grandes Pagos d' España is a non-profit association of 34 prestigious wineries dedicated to single-estate production across Spain. Membership in Grandes Pagos is based on rigorous selection criteria for viticulture and winemaking excellence on the level of a pago, a delineated vineyard parcel that is the ultimate terroir designation in Spain. Grandes Pagos d' España aims to defend the unique, terroir-driven personality of single-estate wines, to uphold and promote the ethos of Spanish winemaking, and to make wines of excellence in harmony with the soil, nature and climate of each vineyard.
The classes will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025 and Sunday, March 9, 2025. There will be an hour lunch break each day. Lunch will be provided.
The exam will take place at 4pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025. A certificate of completion will be issued to students who pass the 20 question multiple choice exam with 70%.

UNIT D3: WINES OF THE WORLD
This unit enriches students in understanding how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influence style, quality and price of wines around the world. You will learn the ability to taste and evaluate the quality of wines from the principal wine regions accurately. The exam happens over two days. Day 1 requires three hours and 20 minutes of essays to a range of theory questions. Day 2 requires three hours of blind tastings of 12 wines.
The Combo Online/In Person course includes 5 weekends in Cambridge of Tasting an Theory preparation exercises, as well as discussions on the key points that impact each of the 26 global regions covered in D3. Additionally, the course includes:

UNIT D3: WINES OF THE WORLD
This unit enriches students in understanding how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influence style, quality and price of wines around the world. You will learn the ability to taste and evaluate the quality of wines from the principal wine regions accurately. The exam happens over two days. Day 1 requires three hours and 20 minutes of essays to a range of theory questions. Day 2 requires three hours of blind tastings of 12 wines.
The Combo Online/In Person course includes 5 weekends in Cambridge of Tasting an Theory preparation exercises, as well as discussions on the key points that impact each of the 26 global regions covered in D3. Additionally, the course includes:
Feedback Tests designed by examiners to help prepare you for the actual exam
Recordings on lectures on all 26 regions that you can watch on your own at any time - these provide backup to the weekends and fill in any information you may have missed in class
Over 100 wines
A final weekend of practice exam tasting questions.

The WSET Level 3 Award in Spirits is an advanced-level qualification for professionals and enthusiasts wishing to acquire a detailed understanding of the spirits of the world and develop the tasting skills required to accurately describe and evaluate a spirit.
This qualification is intended to build on knowledge and skills gained from the Level 2 Award in Spirits. You’ll acquire a deep theoretical understanding of the techniques used in spirit production, from the processing of raw materials to post-distillation operations. Through a combination of tasting and the application of theoretical knowledge you will learn to explain confidently why spirits look and taste the way they do and how and why they differ from each other.

The course follows a weekly structure and it is important to keep up with the work set for that week. The educator is not obliged to assess the student’s work if they fall behind. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study. The course prepares the student for the WSET Level 3 Spirits qualification and they are guided by a WSET educator. The student can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled course, should they have any questions. Each week includes a series of independent activities that guide the student through the spirits categories and help them to understand the factors that contribute to a spirits style and quality.

Diploma is a two-year program for anyone who has achieved the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines certification. It is one of the most respected wine certification qualifications in the world. Diploma is incredibly rewarding but also highly challenging and it will take your wine education to an elite level. The Diploma is broken into two Foundation and four Product Knowledge Units taught at various times and locations (including online) over two years. Units D1 and D2 must be taken first. A beginner level sake class for people working in a career in the beverage industry or anyone who has an interest to learn about sake. This qualification offers an exploration around the main styles and types of sake through sight, smell and taste to understand the key factors affecting flavors and aromas. Upon successful completion of a short exam you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

The course will be based around a four-week, nine module online learning program with educator support available during this time. The course material should take about six hours in total to complete, plus revision time.
The course prepares the student for the Level 1 Sake qualification and they are guided by our WSET Sake educator. The student can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled course, should they have any questions. Each module includes a series of independent activities to help students understand sake production and different styles of sake.

WSET Level 3 embarks on an in-depth examination of the options and limitations available to producers of every major world wine region, including France, Italy, Spain, North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The Terroir Workshop by Grandes Pagos de España explores Spanish terroir in the context of history, science, geography, language and people. This workshop will be led by Spanish Wine Scholar and Commonwealth Wine School instructor, Erika Frey. Students will experience the "grand crus" of Spain through the wines and stories of the 32 members of Grandes Pagos d' España.
The second session of the workshop will focus on the Mediterranean terroirs (Catalonia, Eastern Spain, Southern Spain, and Balearic Islands) accompanied by 17 wines ranging from Cava to Sherry with a wide representation of styles and native Spanish grape varieties.
Founded in 2000, Grandes Pagos d' España is a non-profit association of 32 prestigious wineries dedicated to single-estate production across Spain. Membership in Grandes Pagos is based on rigorous selection criteria for viticulture and winemaking excellence on the level of a pago, a delineated vineyard parcel that is the ultimate terroir designation in Spain. Grandes Pagos d' España aims to defend the unique, terroir-driven personality of single-estate wines, to uphold and promote the ethos of Spanish winemaking, and to make wines of excellence in harmony with the soil, nature and climate of each vineyard.

The WSET Level 1 course offers a true beginner’s overview of wine, and is geared to anyone with an interest in wine for personal enjoyment or launching a professional career. It’s a particularly good starting point for people just beginning to work in restaurants, hospitality, or retail. Level 1 is a fun way to get up to speed on what wine is and how it differs by style.
The Level 1 course provides a systematized way of learning about and tasting wine, focusing on knowledge that is practical, hands-on, and designed to build a foundation for future exploration. The course will introduce you to basics of wine, broad different styles, simple storage and service rules, and easy techniques for pairing wine with a range of foods.

How does the Online Course work?
The course material should take about six hours in total to complete, plus revision time.
Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study.
While participation in the webinars is encouraged, it is NOT required, as all webinars will be recorded and posted to the Online Learning Platform.
You can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled course, should you have any questions.
Each module includes a series of independent activities to help you understand the differences between grape varieties and types and styles of wine.
At the end of the course, you’ll complete a short, multiple-choice exam (see schedule above), and upon passing, will receive a Level 1 WSET certificate.

UNIT D3: WINES OF THE WORLD
This unit enriches students in understanding how grape growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influence style, quality and price of wines around the world. You will learn the ability to taste and evaluate the quality of wines from the principal wine regions accurately. The exam happens over two days. Day 1 requires three hours and 20 minutes of essays to a range of theory questions. Day 2 requires three hours of blind tastings of 12 wines.
The Combo Online/In Person course includes 5 weekends in Cambridge of Tasting an Theory preparation exercises, as well as discussions on the key points that impact each of the 26 global regions covered in D3. Additionally, the course includes:
Feedback Tests designed by examiners to help prepare you for the actual exam
Recordings on lectures on all 26 regions that you can watch on your own at any time - these provide backup to the weekends and fill in any information you may have missed in class
Over 100 wines
A final weekend of practice exam tasting questions.
Cost is $2650 for Online study or $3650 for a combination of Online and In Person (Combo) classroom instruction.

Everyone is talking about Croatia: its islands, the gourmet food, and the wine offerings. Did you know that despite its small size, Croatia has four distinctly different wine regions, and more than 130 indigenous varieties? In this class, you will learn about the Croatian wine making Renaissance, and explore unique wines from producers representing each of the regions.
Join Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc. for an overview of the inspiring things happening within Croatian wine industry. We'll cover historical background to the current wine scene where numerous wineries are receiving international awards, the introduction to various climates and soils, and various styles of wines. We will also share the story and taste Zinfandel/Crljenak and Plavac Mali.
We will taste reds and whites from various wine regions, and will also explore rose and orange wines.
