Eating the Alps - Alpine Wine and Cheese [Jan 22]

Saturday, January 22nd, 630pm-8pm

Mountain cheesemaking culture is one of the oldest in the world. For centuries, dairy farmers have made wheels of cheese as a way to preserve milk for consumption during the lean months. The fruits of this practice are some of the best cheeses in the world. Rich, dense alpine cheeses are full of flavor and incredibly complex. The wines of these regions are just as magnificent. Full-bodied and intense, they are the perfect companions.

It's time to give these glorious delicacies their due. Join wine & cheese educator (and alpine specialist) Adam Centamore for an evening learning about all the alps have to offer. You'll try amazing high-altitude cheeses from the Jura in France, the Italian Alps, the rolling pastures of Switzerland, and elsewhere while learning why these cheese are so special. Alongside your snacking safari you'll sip on incredible wines from these same regions, paired perfectly with each bite.

It's truly a special chance to experience a wonderful wine and cheese culture. The hills are alive with Alpine wine and cheese!

You can choose to take this class at Commonwealth Wine School or Online through Zoom. Tastings are provided as part of the in-person class. We will provide a wine and cheese tasting list for those who wish to take the class online.
