France: Bordeaux and the Southwest [Dec 18]
Saturday, December 18, 6:30-8pm
Bordeaux and Southwest France have been producing wine since the time of Pliny the Elder. These regions have a rich history and have influenced the entire wine world, from Italy to Australia to California and even China.
This class will explore the many styles of Bordeaux and their fascinating history, then move on to the lesser-known regions of France’s Southwest, some of which predated Bordeaux and gave rise to its famous wines. We’ll also discuss the future of these regions in a changing climate, and the measures underway to help Bordeaux adapt as temperatures rise.
You can choose to take this course in person at Commonwealth Wine School or online. If you choose the online option, we will provide you with tasting lists so that you may purchase wine to taste along at home.
