Iconic Wines of Italy [April 28]
Wednesday, April 28th, 6:30 - 8pm
Dubbed oenotria (“land of wine”) by the Greeks, Italy has long been revered for both its diversity and quality of wines produced. From the slopes of the Alps in the north to the sun-drenched vineyards of the south, no one can put forward the variety of wines quite like the Italians. While government hasn’t always served the best interest of the Italian winemaker, there are regions that transcend the red tape that the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) system has put into place.
Led by Michael Meagher, one of fewer than 270 Master Sommeliers worldwide, this seminar will focus on six of Italy’s top regions and wine styles. Some wines might be familiar, some perhaps less so, but they all possess the Italian gusto that captures the romance and passion of everyday life.
This class will be held Online through Zoom. Tasting Kits are available for pick up at our school if you select the Online with Tasting Kit registration option. For those who wish to purchase their own wines, lists will be provided ahead of time so that you may taste along at home.
