Introduction to the Wines of Piedmont
Thursday, January 14, 6-8:00pm
Piedmont means “at the foot of the mountain” in Italian, and the stunning landscape of Piedmont is surrounded on 3 sides by the Alps in Northwestern Italy. Turin, the capital city, is filled with history and culture. Piemontese take cuisine very seriously, and the city of Bra is the center of the Slow Food Movement. To accompany the many cuisine specialties, the wines of Piedmont are able-bodied partners. The best known of Piedmont wines are the majestic Barolo and Barbaresco wines. But, there are so many more wines and grapes to discover in Piedmont - both reds and whites. Let’s grab a glass of Gavi, Barbera, Erbaluce or Dolcetto and go!
