California [June 15]

Wednesday, June 15th, 6:30-8:00pm

California is well-known internationally for its outstanding wines. This class will discuss the history of the California wine industry and outline the major appellations from south of the Bay Area to the Mexican border. We'll examine the famous appellations of Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino, and we’ll taste classic examples of these world-class wines. California’s oldest wine regions are farther south, and Central and Southern California are producing phenomenal wines today. We'll explore what makes these regions unique, and finish with a conversation about how California can adjust to the reality of climate change.

You can choose to take this course in person at Commonwealth Wine School or online. If you choose the online option, we will provide you with tasting lists so that you may purchase wine to taste along at home.
