Join wine educator, Erika Frey, on a journey of wine through time. Archaeological evidence of grape wine dates back about 8000 years, and its importance in human history has been documented in many forms like art, architecture, music and literature. Throughout history, wine has played important roles in culture, religion, science and business.
This 4-part class series will explore wine's significance through the ages paired with wines that are reminiscent of those historical times.
Wednesday, January 5 - Wine from Neolithic times through the Age of Iron
Wednesday, January 12 - Wines of ancient Greece and Rome
Wednesday, January 26 - Wines from Medieval times through the Age of Exploration
Wednesday, February 2 - Modern wine in the time of science, technology and globalization
You can choose to take this course in person at Commonwealth Wine School or online. If you choose the online option, we will provide you with tasting lists so that you may purchase wine to taste along at home.
