Take a journey through your wine glass to the beautiful country of Croatia with wine educator, Erika Frey, and the wines of Croatian Premium Wine Imports. Croatia offers an array of climates and cultures which are reflected in their variety of wine styles. In this class, we will be sampling wines from the Uplands, Istria and Dalmatia regions. Discover the local grape varieties of Graševina, Teran and Plavac Mali.
Learn about Croatia's terroir, wine history and culture while sipping some of these outstanding examples of quality Croatian wines being produced today. The wines we will discuss are:
Slavonia: Krauthaker Graševina 2019 (Kutjevo area)
Dalmatia: Volarevic Pošip 2020 - (Korcula grapes)
Terra Madre Barrique 2016 Plavac Mali (Komarna)
Istra: Ritosa Malvazija 2019 (Porec, coastal)
Fakin Teran 2016 (Motovun)
Uplands: Preiner Yellow Muscat Dessert wine
You can choose to take this class at Commonwealth Wine School or Online through Zoom. Tastings are provided as part of the in-person class, or available for pick up at our school if you select the Online with Tasting Kit registration option. If you would like your kit shipped to you, please pay for shipping here. For those who choose to register for the online class only, wine lists will be provided ahead of time so that you may taste along at home. For those who choose to register for the online class only, you can purchase the wines directly from the Croatian Premium Wine Shop online. Please allow up to 10 business days for shipping to the East Coast. Some of the wines are also available in local wine shops.
