Starting in Bilbao, follow the wine routes through Txakoli to Rioja, onto Ribera del Duero and Rueda and Madrid. Explore Spanish terroir in the context of history, science, geography, language and people. This tour will be led by Spanish Wine Scholar and Commonwealth Wine School instructor, Erika Frey, and Sagres Vacations. Students will experience the "grand crus" of Spain through the wines and stories of the 34 members of Grandes Pagos d' España.
Membership in Grandes Pagos is based on rigorous selection criteria for viticulture and winemaking excellence on the level of a pago, a delineated vineyard parcel that is the ultimate terroir designation in Spain. You’ll have the opportunity to visit several of these estates, and taste the wines of others, as you visit with producers and growers whose aim is to defend the unique, terroir-driven personality of single-estate wines, to uphold and promote the ethos of Spanish winemaking, and to make wines of excellence in harmony with the soil, nature and climate of each vineyard.

Terms and Conditions
Land Rates, (tours, excursions, activities, hotels, transfers etc.…)
Land rates are per person, based on double occupancy and subject to current availability. Some restrictions and blackout periods apply.
Covid 19 Waiver
Sagres Vacations is not responsible for any additional expenses derived from you testing positive from Covid 19. This includes, but not limited to, additional hotel stays, changes in flights, hotels and refunds resulting from the entire or part of tour cancellation.
Passports
You must have a passport to travel internationally. Passports must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the conclusion of your trip. The company requires your passport details prior to final documentation for all international travel.
Payments
A 20% per person non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure your reservation. If your travel arrangements include scheduled air, you are required to purchase the full air ticket cost at time of booking in addition to your deposit. Balance is due 60 days before all tour programs, except for our GROUP programs where final payment is due 90 days before. For all cruise programs the balance is due 120 days before departure. If you are booking your travel program within 60 days of departure, final payment is required at time of booking.
Cancellations
For groups: More than 91 days before departure, your non-refundable deposit will be retained.
All other travel: More than 61 Days before departure, your non-refundable deposit will be retained.
60-0 Days Before Departure: 100% of land/or cruise price total will be retained.
Cancellations of confirmed reservations result in penalties and fees assessed by our travel suppliers. Airline tickets are 100% non-refundable once paid in full.
Revision and Changes to Itinerary
A handling fee of $25.00 per transaction will be assessed for any change or revision made during a reservation. A change of departure date may result in cancellation.
Tourism Tax
Please note, some European Cities may charge a Touristic Tax imposed directly by each city and not included in the price of your Itinerary. This Tax ranges from 2 Euro to 5 Euros per night, per person and may be paid directly at the Hotel. The Touristic tax is imposed directly from each City and Country and may be subject to change, please inquire directly with the hotel on the specific touristic tax.
