The Terroir Workshop by Grandes Pagos de España [Oct 27 & Nov 17]

Certification Exam: November 17 at 4pm, 20 multiple choice questions

The Terroir Workshop by Grandes Pagos de España explores Spanish terroir in the context of history, science, geography, language and people. This workshop will be led by Spanish Wine Scholar and Commonwealth Wine School instructor, Erika Frey. Students will experience the "grand crus" of Spain through the wines and stories of the 32 members of Grandes Pagos d' España.
Founded in 2000, Grandes Pagos d' España is a non-profit association of 32 prestigious wineries dedicated to single-estate production across Spain. Membership in Grandes Pagos is based on rigorous selection criteria for viticulture and winemaking excellence on the level of a pago, a delineated vineyard parcel that is the ultimate terroir designation in Spain. Grandes Pagos d' España aims to defend the unique, terroir-driven personality of single-estate wines, to uphold and promote the ethos of Spanish winemaking, and to make wines of excellence in harmony with the soil, nature and climate of each vineyard.
The classes will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, October 27, 2024 and Sunday, November 17, 2024. There will be an hour lunch break each day. Lunch will be provided.
The exam will take place at 4pm on Sunday, November 17, 2024. A certificate of completion will be issued to students who pass the 20 question multiple choice exam with 70%.
