About Level 2:

If you know the basics about Sake—that it’s served both warm and cold, and that it’s made from steamed rice, water, yeast, and koji—then begin at Level 2. This beginner to intermediate sake course offers greater breadth and depth of material and more tasting opportunities as compared to Level 1. It’s for anyone who:

• Works in sake or who want a career in the industry
• Has a serious interest in deepening their sake knowledge
• Wishes to become a more confident sake taster

This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of sake. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal rice varieties used in the production of sake, how it’s grown and processed, and the styles of sake they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these sake with confidence.

At the end of the course, you’ll complete a short, multiple-choice exam, and upon passing, will receive a Digital Level 2 WSET certificate.
