About Level 2:

If you know the basic spirits categories—such as what separates a tequila from a rum and that Scotch Whisky is made in Scotland —then begin at Level 2. This beginner to intermediate spirits course offers greater breadth and depth of material, more tasting opportunities and additional classroom hours compared to Level 1. It’s for anyone who:

  1. Works in spirits or who want a career in the industry

  2. Has a serious interest in deepening their spirits knowledge

  3. Wishes to become a more confident spirits taster

In this course you’ll learn:

  1. About a wide range of spirits and the main ingredients used in the production of spirits.

  2. Important spirits producing regions and countries around the world.

  3. The ins and outs serving spirits and the use of spirits in cocktails

  4. How techniques used during the 4 steps of production (processing of raw materials, fermentation, distillation, and post-distillation operations) affect the style and quality of spirits, and learn how to describe these spirits with confidence using WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits®.

Students retain access to the online course for 12 months from the course start date.

  6. Each module includes a series of independent activities to help you understand the differences between the raw materials used, as well as the differing fermentation, distillation, and post-distillation techniques of the various styles of spirits.
