Iconic Wines [April 9]

Friday, April 9th, 630pm-8pm

Why all the hype?  There are some wines that people swoon over, covet, save, brag about and drink only on the most special occasions.  What makes those wines so special?  Well, let’s talk about that!

There are certain wine makers that everyone knows about – for example, Ridge for their Montebello, Caymus for their Cabernet, Chateau Margaux for its Bordeaux, Williams Selyem for their Pinot Noirs, Beaucastel for their Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Guigal for their Côte Rotie and Veuve Cliquot for their champagne.  In this class, we will explore a handful of these iconic wines and talk about what makes them so famous.

This wine tour will be a luxury stay-cation from your living room. We will actually taste those wines that you hear people talk about in magazines or the wines you pass by in the store and wonder about but never get around to actually tasting.  Or even maybe wines you have bought but are waiting for the “right” occasion to drink.

This class will be held Online through Zoom. Tasting Kits are available for pick up at our school if you select the Online with Tasting Kit registration option. For those who wish to purchase their own wines, lists will be provided ahead of time so that you may taste along at home.
