"Orange wine" is becoming one of the latest trends in the world of wine. Perhaps you've tried it already or maybe you've never heard of it. What is it exactly? It's white wine that has had contact with the grape skins which gives the wine additional color, flavor and texture. The countries of Georgia, Italy and Slovenia make some of the most well known orange wines, but now everyone seems to be giving orange a go including right here in the United States. Here's your chance to be on-trend and have wine educator, Erika Frey, introduce you to the growing category of orange wine. By the end of the class, you will understand how they are made, how they differ from other wine styles and why they are important. Could orange wine become as popular as rosé? Join the class, and let's find out together.
You can choose to take this class in person at Commonwealth Wine School or online streaming through Zoom. Tastings are provided as part of the in person class. A list of suggested orange wines will be provided for students who choose to join from home, prior to class so that you can taste along.
